The annual bike parade and free family concert, in partnership with the Chamber Music Festival, was once again a large success at the Madison–Morgan County Cultural Center. Before the free family concert, children came and decorated their bikes in partnership with The Painted Pineapple on Monday, June 12, and later had a bike safety talk from the Madison Police Department. With 10 contestants in this year’s bike parade, the kids rode one block around the Cultural Center, displaying their decorated bikes. After the parade, the free family concert took place inside the auditorium with around 50 kids attending. The City of Angels Saxophone Quartet performed at the concert, teaching the kids about the history of the saxophone and played a popular arrangement of Disney songs. Rebecca Bonas, Performance Director and Facilities Manager at MMCC stated, “We were proud to have the City of Angels Sax Quartet as part of our line up. We also loved seeing all the students engaged with the history of the instrument and the variety of music that was played.” After the concert, the kids were treated with free ice cream given by the Caboose. The Madison–Morgan County Cultural Center would like to thank their sponsors for this event; the first sponsor was anonymous, and the second sponsor was Central Georgia EMC.
