Where’s my judge’s gavel? Bang. Bang! Hear ye hear ye! Order in the court! School may be in session, but it’s still summer so act accordingly! Ok y’all there’s a heap of Buzz this week so let’s get started!

The Humane Society of Morgan County is hostin’ an open house Pawty y’all! Mark your calendar for August 18 from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. and head over to 1170 Fairground Road in Madison for free hotdogs, hamburgers and cold drinks!

Take a tour of our fabulous Humane Society of Morgan County’s building and meet the cute dogs and cats available for adoption! Hey and don’t forget that the Humane Society is selling tickets for its annual $10,000 raffle!

Only 200 tickets will be sold at $100 each so you have a one in 200 chance of being rich, rich, rich I say! The drawing will be held at the Chili Cook-Off in Town Park on October !

Ding dang down dog y’all! The other day  after a zenlicious yoga class at Holding Space (behind Thrifty Mac and part of Uptown Athletics) Sharon McCullough told me all ‘bout this really cool Pollinator Symposium  slated for September 23.  The best part is that it’s gonna be held at the beautiful Monastery of the Holy Spirit in Conyers!

The cost is only $75 and it includes a membership in the Environmental Education Alliance. The topics include Hummingbirds, Native Bees, Monarch Butterfly, and Pollinator Gardens. This sounds fabulous!

Hey y’all! The Biz Buzz just learned that Claire Masingill who attended Morgan County High School, has moved back to Madison after a four-year stint operating a food truck in Charleston!

She just started a new catering company called Pine and Plum (named after the two streets her home is located on in Madison). Her company will focus on events, private chef services and preordered casseroles, salads, cakes, pies and weekly suppers for busy families!

More news on the openin’ of Madison’s newest restaurant Mint Juleps Kitchen! The chef is Sean Draeger, who has been creating award-winning cuisine for more than 20 years in restaurants from Seattle to Atlanta! Most recently he was the genius behind Pizza Bella in Atlanta, an eatery located near Emory that has been featured on the Food Network and various publications!
