A 15–year–old male teen was taken into custody last Thursday, August 17 after he allegedly stabbed a woman in the arm and held a knife to the throat of his 5–year–old brother as he dragged the brother through a parking area.
According to Madison Police Department reports, a 29–year–old woman told officers that the teen and the 5–year where arguing at approximately 7 p.m. in a East Jefferson Street residence. The victim told officers that she was at the residence watching the children for a friend so the friend could go to work.
The woman said after she admonished the boys to stop fighting, the teen produced a knife and began to swing the knife at her. The woman said she grabbed a broom to defend herself and the teen back away. The woman said she and the 5–year–old left the residence and she attempted to get the child in a car for safety.
The woman said at the moment the teen allegedly stabbed her in the left arm while she was standing near the vehicle. She said she jumped in the vehicle to prevent getting stabbed a second time she tried to get the child into the car but the teen grabbed the child and placed the knife at the child’s throat.
The teen then allegedly forced the child to walk approximately 50 feet from the residence before he then threw the child down a 15 foot ditch. He then dropped the knife.
The teen was arrested without incident by a Madison Police Department officer at the intersection of Vine Street and East Jefferson. Reports state that he was transported initially to Morgan Memorial Hospital for evaluation before he was taken to the Sandersville Youth Detention Center.
The woman received four stitches in her arm at Morgan Memorial Hospital.
