In their first regular season meet of the season, the Morgan County Middle School boys’ cross-country runners took first place at last weekend’s run at Loganville Christian Academy. Competing in the event were teams from LCA, Trinity Christian, Loganville Middle School, George Walton, Prince Avenue Christian, and Briarwood.
Coach Sarah Robertson said, “I was pleased with both the individual and team effort from our boys. To finish first out of seven strong teams is a great way to start our season.”
Placing for Morgan was: Rhett Spinks, Jayce Craft, and Wyatt Spinks finishing second, sixth, and eighth respectively. R. Spinks ran 10:05.35, Craft 10:26.30, and W. Spinks 10:41.59 to lead the Morgan charge. Other runners on the winning squad were: Benjamin Lambert, Jackson Kirby, Jacob Martin, and Tripp Lancaster.
The Morgan County cross-country teams at the high and middle school are making a name for themselves in the area and in the state. Their next outing will be August 31 as the two teams travel to Milledgeville for a meet at GMC.
