The Morgan Memorial Hospital Authority (MMHA) discussed their current financial data, new hospital construction project, and accepted $1.4 million in charitable contributions from the hospital foundation at the last regular meeting on Thursday, Oct. 26.

According to Kyle Wilkinson, chief finance officer for Morgan Memorial Hospital (MMH), in early October, MMH closed on $35 million in Construction Notes to pay for the new hospital replacement project.

During the month of September, the hospital turned a profit of $191,621, bringing the Year to Date Net Income to $93,164. The $1.4 million from the hospital’s foundation was a portion of the monies raised so far from MMH’s ongoing capital campaign.

Construction crews are currently preparing the new site of the hospital.

“The construction project is on schedule and going well.   Thus far it’s primarily been grading and erosion control work but we are looking forward to seeing some very noticeable progress in the coming weeks,” said Megan Morris, director of community and public relations for MMH.
