A 22-year-old Rutledge youth has been charged with armed robbery after he allegedly pointed a pistol at a Hollis St. residence and demanded money.
According to Morgan County Sheriff’s Office reports, Stanley Deneen Harris turned himself in to authorities at the Morgan County Public Safety Complex, Monticello Road, on Dec. 23, one day after he allegedly took $2,000 at gunpoint from a 29–year–old Rutledge man.
Reports state that Harris’ father located him in Monroe and brought him to authorities for arrest.
The victim said on Dec. 22 at approximately 9:45 p.m. Harris came to his Hollis St. residence. The man said he had called Harris and demanded payment of a past debt. The victim told authorities that after Harris arrived he pointed a gun at the man and told him to give him “all’ his money.
The man allegedly gave Harris $2,000 and Harris fled.
Harris remains incarcerated at the Morgan County Detention Center. No bond has been set, records indicate.
