Charlie Studdard Jr. was born January 13, 1936 to the late Charlie and Pinky Taylor Studdard Sr. in Buckhead. He was employed by Wellington and Wal-Mart. Charlie joined Calvary Baptist Church and was a faithful member.
He married the love of his life the late Mamie Louise Fambrough Studdard. They were blessed with 11 children. Three children preceded him in death, Betty Smith, Leroy Smith and Larry Smith. Charlie was a devoted husband, father and grandfather.
Charlie departed his earthly life to a heavenly home January 29, 2018. He leaves to cherish his memories, Tommy Smith, Martha Peters, Melvin (Essie) Smith, Dollie (Wilson) Williams, Lewis (Edna) Smith, Mattie Smith and Sarah Sawyer, 14 grandchildren,18 great grandchildren, three great, great grandchildren and a host of cousins and friends.
Funeral service was held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 3, at Calvary Baptist Church with Minister Lewis Smith presiding and the Rev. Dr. Hoke L. Smith officiating. Interment was at Fairview Cemetery.
Flower girls were Phyllis Williams, Annie Parks, Peggy Benford, and Betty Thomas, Deaconess of Calvary.
Pallbearers were Deacons of Calvary Baptist Church.
Watts Funeral Home of Union Point were in charge of arrangements.
