Williams signs with Eagles

Morgan County High School’s Quin Williams has decided to play football at Georgia Southern University.  The senior had also committed to GMC, a small junior college in Milledgeville.  However, things changed dramatically for the 6-3, 250 pounder after qualifying on the ACT.  Mentor and close family friend, Coach Candi Wyatt said, “I’m so proud of Quin.  After not making the score he needed to on the ACT, he never gave up and worked so hard to get it up so he could play Division-I football.  That’s always been his dream and now it has come true for him.”

Williams bring great athleticism to the program not only starting at outside linebacker and defensive end for the Bulldogs, but also starting in the post for the Final Four Morgan County basketball team under Jamond Sims.  The senior showed his versatility as a power forward/center that could run the floor, punish people in the paint, block shots, and rebound.  As soon as he got his score, it’s a certainty that Georgia Southern’s Head Coach, Chad Lunsford, jumped all over the opportunity to sign him.

Here’s a rundown on Williams from the Georgia Southern Eagles’ football recruiting page on their website at http://gseagles.com/roster.aspx?rp_id=3177.

Personal: Born Quintavious I. Williams on July 29 in Athens, GA … Son of Patience Ingram.

Williams is one of 21 2018 signees that inked with the Eagles.  One publication listed their class, the first under Lunsford as the full-time head coach, as the number one class in the Sunbelt Conference at this time.

We want to congratulate Quin on this great accomplishment and know he’s going to make the Morgan County fans proud.  He joins some other prominent signees at the school from Madison.  Tookie and Pumpkin Brown, siblings that start for the basketball programs, will be there to cheer him on as will many Bulldog fans that can’t wait to watch him play.
