Don’t miss the chance to support one of Morgan County’s local non-profits who rescue, care for, and find homes for our adorable furry friends.
The Humane Society of Morgan County (HSMC) is hosting a “Puppy Bowl” at the Madison Airport on Saturday, April 28 at 5 p.m. to raise funds for the organization.
According to Julie McGinnis, president of the HSMC, the Puppy Bowl will be a terrific event with fun for the entire family.
“This is a night of great food, drinks, a great band and a cornhole tournament for just $35 per person,” said McGinnis. “We are also featuring onsite childcare with fun activities. Kids 12 and under are free.”
The event will feature BBQ pork cuisine with live music performed by Dwight Wilson and Classic City Soul, known for their “classic Motown, R & B, Soul, and Beach Music” style.
“They will entertain and get you on your feet, so put on your dancing shoes!” said McGinnis.
The HSMC would ideally like to raise $15,000 from this event to continue caring for the county’s most vulnerable animals.
“We have a long way to go to raise that much money,” said McGinnis. “We hope the community will help support our local shelter. It is a non-profit, no-kill shelter, which relies on donations to keep operating and the doors open.”
McGinnis highlighted the accomplishments of the HSMC, noting the shelter saved over 440 dogs and cats from euthanasia last year alone.
“The Humane Society of Morgan County plays a vital role in helping our community,” said McGinnis.
“We work hard to find these animals the perfect home, so they can have a loving home forever.”
To purchase tickets or to sign up for the tournament, go to www.puppybowlcornhole.eventbrite.com or call Humane Society of Morgan County (706) 343-9977.
“We also always could use more volunteers and supply donations,” noted McGinnis.
