After working with marketing consultants and hospital employees, the Morgan Memorial Hospital (MMH) board selected a name for the new hospital to aid its rebranding – the Morgan Medical Center. The name for the new hospital was revealed Thursday, April 26.
Sarah Burbach, chairman of the MMH Foundation explained, “The reason for ‘medical center’ is because we are more than a hospital. We’ll have out-patient procedures going on, radiology, labs, rehabilitation, and other wonderful things happening. We are a medical center because of it.”
MMH CEO Ralph Castillo mentioned, “We will be Morgan Memorial Hospital until we open.”
The MMH Authority met later that evening and approved acquisition of cardiac monitoring, anesthesia, and telemetry equipment for the new hospital. They further decided to use a broker for the sale of the current MMH property and also approved credentialing of three doctors.
