Emma Gean Williams, 70, died May 6, 2018 at Piedmont Atlanta Hospital. She was born April 1, 1948 in Madison to Willie B. and Clara J. Smith.
Emma Gean was married to Harold Williams who preceded her in death. Unto them two sons were born, Terry Williams Sr. who preceded her in death and David Williams Sr.
Emma Gean joined Lower Mosely Church, where she was a faithful member. She worked at several places during her lifetime. Among them were Verner Farms and the Chicken Poultry Plant.
She was a very jolly person, never met a stranger, was always smiling and she loved her country western movies and the game show network. She really enjoyed fishing and spending time with her grandchildren.
Emma Gean leaves to cherish her memories her son David (Dianne) Williams Sr. of Rutledge; six grandchildren Devontae, Deandra, Shon’Terria, Ca’Terria, David Jr., Daviana and one grandson Terry Jr. who preceded her in death; two sisters Lucille Smith of Covington, Betty Turk of Covington and Sadie Smith and Gracie Smith both preceded her in death; three brothers Frank Smith of Barnesville, Henry Smith of Newborn and Tony Smith of Newborn; and Jimmy Lee Smith and Clarence Smith both preceded her in death. She is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Two special daughters Yolanda Hardeman and Tomeka Hawkins, and two special friends Dot Pearson, Stephanie Howard and Velma Williams.
Funeral service was held at 12 noon Saturday, May 12 at Lower Mosley Baptist Church in Rutledge. The Rev. Lonnie Williams was the Eulogist and officiated at the service.
Flower bearers were Kenyatta Pitts, Lucy Harris, Pearlie Mae Smith, Mildred Smith and Emma Wilborn. Pall bearers were Quint Pitts, Antonio Peacock, Taurus Garrett, Jamey Avery. Jeff Smith and Torez Williams.
Watts Funeral Home, Inc. of Union Point was in charge of arrangements.
