Madison joined in on an international effort to encourage health, safety and environmental awareness earlier this month by celebrating the Kids Day America event on Saturday, May 19. The event was held at Triplett Family Chiropractic, located at 255 North Main Street.
“We are so excited to be able to host this event for kids and families and then be able to give again to raise awareness and funds for the new non-profit that helps other kids and families right here in Madison! This is the 23rd Annual Kids Day America-International event, but the first time coming to Madison, Ga.,” said Dr. Vanessa Triplett.
The event featured prizes all day, a bouncey house, pony rides, food, and chiropractic screenings. Thefire department and police department also did demonstrations.
Triplett’s office also provided health screenings and scoliosis checks for kids and families. Triplett is already looking forward to next year’s event, hoping it becomes an annual tradition.
Even Madison Mayor Fred Perriman attended the event to deliver a proclamation to bring Kids Day to Madison every year.
All the proceeds from the event are donated to a local non-profit, “Healing Hearts with Hands,” an equine therapy for special needs kids and adults, and for veterans with PTSD.
According to the website, “Kid’s Day America-International has a long and successful history of bringing children’s health and wellness in communities across the globe. The Kid’s Day America/International movement began from a desire to help more children. At every event, children are provided with free child identification cards, given free health screenings, safety education, and environmental awareness. We hope your family will come and celebrate this great event!”
Come out Saturday to support a worthy cause while having fun with the whole family.
