Selected among 15 eligible outstanding youth, Seth Robertson has been named the Youth of the Year by the Madison-Morgan County Boys & Girls Club. The Youth of the Year title is a prestigious honor bestowed upon an exemplary young person in recognition of leadership, service, academic excellence and dedication to live a healthy lifestyle. Now in its 71st year, the Youth of the Year program honors our nation’s most awe-inspiring young people on their path to great futures and encourages all kids to lead, succeed and inspire. As the Club level winner of Youth of Year, Seth wins a $500 scholarship and will go on to vie for the title of Boys & Girls Clubs of North Central Georgia Youth of the Year in November 2018 and be eligible to win a $1,500 college scholarship and select technology for college from the organization.
Seth has been a member of various clubs throughout Boys & Girls Clubs of North Central Georgia over the last 10 years.
“Academically, the club has offered rigorous challenges and excellent ways of awarding exceeding students. This is one thing I truly love about the club. With programs such as ‘Power Hour’ and ‘Summer Brain Gain,’ it encouraged students to actually love learning, and also be rewarded by good performance throughout the learning experience,” he shared. “During the summer, we did these programs, and by the end of the summer I had won “Most Excellent/Star Student Award” based off of academic performance through instructional time. With a constant dose of this environment every day for a long 10 years, it has grown an energetic student in me, helping me to be eager and always ready to learn, and that’s one thing I can’t thank the club for enough.”
As a part of the annual Youth of the Year recognition program, each Club will also nominate an Ambassador who will serve as not only a supportive associate to the reigning Youth of the Year, but who is equally qualified as leader in their local Club and a voice for teen and youth matters.
The Madison- Morgan County Boys & Girls Club is pleased to announce the 2018-2019 MMC Ambassador – Ar’Mond Wright.
Senior Executive Director Karen Robertson states, “We couldn’t be more proud to have both of these fine young men representing our Club as the Youth of the Year and Ambassador.
They are both phenomenal teens with high potential to be great leaders for their Club and the teen community.”
