The Madison Police Department responded to an armed robbery at the Pilot Travel Center on Monday just before 5 a.m.

Freddick Mickens, 54, from Hepzibah, Georgia, entered the truck stop and threatened the clerk with a knife. He left with an undisclosed amount of cash, according to Detective Wes Thompson.

One of the other employees called 911, and police were dispatched to the location. The clerk described the vehicle, a white Buick, to the officers.

Officer Travis Stubbs and Sergeant Jeremy Hoffman stopped the vehicle a few minutes after as it turned onto the Madison bypass, according to the report.

Police arrested Mickens as well as Larry Tanner, 50, from Buckhead, Ga., and Suellen Greenleaf, 49, Fayetteville, N.C. The money was recovered in the vehicle. All three were charged with armed robbery.
