Morgan County School System Thank You Celebration

To the Editor:

The Chamber of Commerce Partners in Education Committee in conjunction with the Board of Education held the second end of year celebration on May 30. This year’s event was held at the High School gym due to threatening weather and was once again catered by Farmview. A wonderful, two protein barbeque with all the fixings was served.

There were 28 sponsors this year and over $ 7,600 in door prizes were given out. Of the 490 plus attendees representing all facets of school system, over 150 participants took home prizes ranging from a free Bo Berry biscuit from Bo Jangles to $ 1,000 cash. WMOQ radio was there broadcasting live and participants celebrated the end of the school year. Local dignitaries and a State Board of Education member, Lee Anne Cowart, were on hand for the festivities.

Recognizing our education employees at an event like this is the business community’s way of saying thank you. Our school system works hard to help our children learn the life tools they will need to successfully become the workforce of tomorrow.

The Chamber of Commerce thanks Dr. James Woodard and his team for working with the business community to help make this event a huge success.

A complete list of sponsors and additional photos are available on the Chamber’s facebook page.
