Music and testimonials filled Town Park in Madison Thursday, June 21, as Beloved hosted the Summer Party in the Park Concert.
Danielle Copeland, the event organizer, explained, “Beloved is a group that was created by a group of women from different churches in the area who wanted an event for women where they could come together, press pause on their lives, and soak up God’s love and fellowship with other women. We chose the name Beloved because it includes everyone. We want women to feel loved, cherished, and heard, and ‘Beloved’ accomplishes all of that.”
Local musicians from various churches performed as people enjoyed packed picnics. In addition, testimonials were shared throughout the evening by women who spoke of their experiences and faith. Community resources such as the Boys and Girls Club, Habitat for Humanity, and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes also attended with informational tables around the park.
“The first event we hosted was this past December, and we had 205 women participate, and our largest turnout was 277 women. We’ve had two others since then and [the venue moves] around the churches. There are two more gatherings planned – September 20 and November 29.”
