Homer Patterson, 93, died September 16, 2018 at Greene Point Health and Rehabilitation in Union Point. He was born November 22, 1924 to the late Sara Wilson Hargrove and Ish Patterson in Danielsville. He was married to Ruth Washington Patterson who preceded him in death.
In his younger years he was employed at Porterdale Mills in Porterdale until he retired. After retiring he continued to work but not as hard. He worked as a lawn man for several years until his health began to fail.
At an early age he dedicated his life to Christ and joined Flat Rock Baptist Church. He worked and served faithfully on the Deacon Board until he was no longer able to do so.
He was preceded in death by his wife Ruth; brother Willie B. Wilson; sisters Susie Wilson McWhorter and Rilla Jackson; niece Paulette Cook; nephews James Wilson, L. C. Brown and Barry Brown; stepson Leon Washington.
He leaves to cherish his memories his step-daughters: Mary Lou Washington, Topsy Washington; step-son Frankie Washington; nieces, Berdie Washington, Pearlie Clay, Beverly Harris and Debbie Bailey; nephews Johnnie Wilson, Willie Brown and Tyrone Kenney and a host of other relatives and friends.
Home Going Services for Mr. Patterson were held at 1 p.m. Saturday, September 22 at Flat Rock Baptist Church. Interment was in Flat Rock Cemetery
His nephews were Pallbearers and his nieces were Flower Bearers.
Watts Funeral Home, Inc. in Union Point were in charge of arrangements.
