After a Sweet Sixteen season and a fourth-place finish in an extremely tough Region 8-AAA, the Lady Diamond Dogs softball squad placed a number of players on the All-Region teams for 2018-19.  The first team nominees included shortstop, centerfielder, and all-around athlete Alissa Webb, ace pitcher Bailey Nix, and third and first baseman Reign Williams on the first team.  Nix, a junior, and Williams, a sophomore, will return for next year while Webb will continue her play at the collegiate level with one of the top-notch Division II schools in the country at North Georgia.

Morgan was represented on the second team by freshman Avery Kinnett, Zoey Brown, and Hannah Callaway.  Kinnett is a rising star who played both third and first base for the Dogs while Brown started the season at second and then moved to short when Webb was injured mid-season.  She ended up staying there when Webb returned to play center.  Callaway was a steady performer in left field and at the plate for the Dogs. Honorable mention representatives included McKenzie Torbush who started in center and then moved to right field during the playoff run for the Lady Dogs.  No doubt that Madison Henry would have again been a first team nominee for the second year had she not injured her knee about mid-season.  She too will attend North Georgia University along with Webb next season.  Congratulations to all the team members for their recognition.
