It is with great sadness that the family of Allan Raymond Karl announces his passing on Monday November 19, 2018 at the age of 85 years.
Allan was born August 16, 1933 in Olean, New York to J. Emmett Karl and Frances Neugart.
He enlisted in the Navy at age 18 and served in the Korean conflict. He later joined the
U.S. Air Force and served for 20 years. He then became a self-employed truck driver for 30 years.
Allan found great joy in “fixing” things on his farm, spending time with his family, and lending a helping hand to anyone in need.
He married Sandra Faye Caldwell on July 6, 1956 in Plymouth, Illinois.
They had the good fortune to call Madison their home for 32 years.
Allan is survived by his daughter Holly, (Phil), his son Paul, (Brenda) and his grandson Matthew.
Allan was preceded in death by his wife of 52 ½ years, Sandra F. Caldwell.
Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, December 8 at the Episcopal Church of the Advent on 338 Academy St, Madison, GA 30650. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to the Semper Fi Fund, a non-profit that assists wounded veterans.
A special thank you to the people of Lily’s House in Atlanta for their loving care.
