The Madison Morgan Cultural Center dashed into December with their well anticipated Community Holiday Concert on Sunday.
The historical auditorium held a full audience of supportive locals and staged a variety of talented members throughout the community of all age ranges.
Emceed by Dan and Heather Mathews, the concert featured group performances from the Morgan County Middle School (MCMS) Jazz Band, Calvary Majestic Choir, Pointe of Grace Dance Academy Tap II Class, MCMS Chorale, First United Methodist Church Women’s Ensemble, and Angelic Voices. While Derek Scoggins & Sophie Barnes, Fulton Pritchett, Mary Katherine Mathews, and Kathleen Bryant brightened the audience with their individual and duet acts.
The locally famed Dancing with the Madison Stars People’s Choice Winners Maddox and Mary Hollis Pugmire featured an encore of their winning dance.
Due to the charitable sponsorship of United Bank, the MMCC was able to donate to The Caring Place with canned good admissions instead of monetary fees. Jack’s Creek Tree Farm donated a live wreath to the winner of the concert’s $5 Christmas Wreath Raffle where the proceeds benefitted MMCC educational programming.
“I think it was awesome,” MMCC Performance Director Rebecca Doolittle raved. “It’s just neat to see the whole community come and it’s all ages – from young students to adults. So just seeing all of them on stage, to me, really kicks off the holiday season with seeing everyone come together.”
