Rutledge Rooster crows once more

Dear Friends and Neighbors,

Christmas is almost upon us. Out in Rutledge plans are underway to celebrate. This Saturday, Dec 8th, our annual Christmas Festival will be held in City Park. Sponsored by the Rutledge Garden Club, there will be vendors selling handcrafted goods, festive food, a variety of musical and magical entertainment and most importantly, a visit from Santa and one of his merriest elves.

The Rutledge Recreation Department is hosting the city’s first ever Christmas parade going off at 10 am.. Santa and his elf will be arriving during the parade so be sure you are here with your kids for this exciting event. We hope you come out and enjoy an old fashion holiday celebration with family and friends.

Also happening in support of the festival at Markets on Main, many of the booths are having sales. Rutledge’s biggest antique mall, located just off the square in an old cotton warehouse, is definitely worth a ramble. Some of you will remember Lilybeth’s Gift Shop.  You’ll find a taste of that store in the Market as well as booths supported by many of your Rutledge friends and neighbors.

Yesterday’s Cafe and the Caboose will be open with holiday specials as well as the town’s other shops. Friday night, the 7th, Molly et al, will be hosting the greatly anticipated annual Red Doors Holiday Open House in her new little store behind the Caboose. Many of you reading this might remember these events from days of yore. Please come and reignite this Rutledge tradition.  Food and beverages will be served. And finishing off the weekend on Sunday, December 9th, the Caboose will be hosting its annual Christmas Tea from 3 – 5  p.m.for only $10.00 Lots of fun!!  Plan to stop in if you will be in the area, or head our way if you weren’t planning to be. Rutledge has the holiday spirit, all weekend!
