The Morgan County Middle School Wrestling squad made a nice showing at the Peach State Duals in Elberton this past weekend.  This is the Middle School’s version of their State Championship that ends the season.  The team, under the guidance of second-year head coach Marcus Crowe and assistant Christian Darsey, came in fifth out of seven strong teams from throughout the area.

Crowe gave these remarks, “We are very excited about how the season went, and we look forward to the future of our program.  We are looking forward to our off-season training and traveling as a team this summer to the University of Iowa Hawkeye wrestling camp.  We hope to make this a summer tradition.  All of our wrestlers won’t be attending, but we have had close to 15 wrestlers buy in and plan to go with us.  This will be an awesome learning experience for the wrestlers as well as Coach Darsey and me.  We also have a few wrestlers that have mentioned going to some local camps and training as well.  It’s an exciting time for Morgan County and our Middle School wrestling program.”
