On March 16 a theft by taking complaint was filed at Travel Center of America, Eatonton Road. According to reports, a man said someone had removed the alternator belt from a refrigeration unit on his 53 foot trailer. The man said he left the trailer and returned an hour later and an alarm warning was coming from the refrigeration unit.
On March 15 Nathan Solomon McFarland, 26, Kennesaw was cited for possession of marijuana, less than an ounce. According to reports, while an officer was working a wreck complaint he allegedly smelled marijuana coming from both McFarland and his vehicle. Reports state that an officer allegedly located a package of two cigars that contained suspected marijuana.
On March 5 a theft by taking complaint was filed at McDonald’s, Eatonton Road. According to reports, a manager reported that an employee stated that someone had removed $5 from her purse while the purse was in a crew room. The manager reviewed video surveillance and observed another employee enter the room and went through the woman’s purse on two occasions. Reports state that the second employee also allegedly took a credit card but returned it to the purse after the card was declined. An officer said in the report that he was waiting to interview the suspect employee before a warrant could be issued.
On March 12 Henry Brooks Morris, 35, Lithonia, was arrested and charged with forgery. According to reports, officers responded to Krystal restaurant, Eatonton Road regarding a white male in a pickup truck attempting to pass counterfeit bills. When officers arrived they blocked Morris’ access and after searching the truck he was driving allegedly found three counterfeit $100 bills. A Krystal’s employee provided a fourth counterfeit bill and alleged Morris had attempted to use the bill at the restaurant. Morris told officers, reports state, that he had recently been released from prison on a possession of methamphetamine conviction.
On March 12 an entering auto complaint was filed at a March Street residence. According to reports, a man said someone took four, 12” Sundown sub woofer speakers and a Sundown amplifier from his vehicle. The man estimated the items are worth $6,200. He said they had been encased in a custom built plywood box. He also said someone had taken four 30” chrome wheels and low-profile tires that had been mounted on his 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe. The wheels and tires are valued at $7,200. Reports state that the vehicle was left on concrete blocks.
On March 11 Theresa Beckum Walker, 65, Madison was arrested and charged with shoplifting. According to reports, a Wal Mart loss prevention agent alleged to officers that Walker attempted to take $46 worth of items from the store without paying.
On March 11 a forgery complaint was filed at a Lions Club Road location. According to reports, a woman said someone had used a company’s business account to pay a Progressive Car Insurance bill ($184) and to pay a Verizon bill ($156).
On March 10 a theft by taking complaint was filed at Zaxby’s, Eatonton Road. According to reports, a woman alleged that while she was washing her hands in the bathroom, someone took her purse and wallet from a bathroom counter.
