Morgan Grand Jury returns criminal indictments

A Morgan County Grand Jury met last week and returned several criminal indictments. The following persons were indicted:

Monterey Tyshay Junious, 19, Wilmington, N.C. was indicted on one count possession of marijuana with intent to distribute. According to court records, Junious was arrested on Sept. 6, 2018 by a Georgia State Patrol trooper on Interstate 20. The vehicle was stopped for a traffic violation and, warrants state, consequent to the stop the trooper allegedly found three pounds of marijuana in a shoe box in the vehicle.

Jason Anthony Crawford, 35, Madison was indicted on one count possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, one count possession of cocaine, one count possession of methamphetamine, one count possession of heroin and one count possession of marijuana with intent to distribute. According to court records, Crawford was arrested on April 16, 2018 by a Georgia State Patrol trooper at the intersection of U.S. 441 and Fairgrounds Road. Consequent to the traffic stop, warrants allege that officers found suspected marijuana, both crack and powder cocaine, crystal shards of meth, scales, brown heroin and plastic bags in the vehicle.

Everette Emanuel Prince, 26, Columbia, S.C. was indicted on one count fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer, one count possession of marijuana, more than an ounce, three counts cruelty to children in the second degree, two counts obstruction and one count tampering with evidence. According to court records, Prince was arrested on Feb. 2, 2019  by a Greene County Sheriff’s Office deputy near Seven Islands Road and Davis Lane in Buckhead. Warrants allege that Prince allegedly fled and attempted to elude officers in a car chase with speeds in excess of 110 mph while a 4-month-old baby, a 3-year-old child, a 4-year-old child and a 9-year-old child were all unrestrained in the vehicle. After the vehicle crashed, warrants allege, Prince fled but was captured on foot. A bag of suspected marijuana was located. A passenger in the vehicle, Jamiara Quanta Felder, 25, Orangeburg, S.C. was also indicted on the same same charges. Warrants allege that during the chase Felder allegedly threw bags of suspected marijuana from the vehicle end gave officers a false name during arrest.

Alfonzo Foster, 68, Madison was indicted on one count aggravated child molestation, one count sodomy and one count enticing a child for indecent purposes. According to court records, Foster was arrested on Dec. 22, by a Morgan County Sheriff’s Office deputy after he allegedly had sex with an 11-year-old girl.

Bradley Jay Watkins, 36, Madison was indicted on one count burglary in the second degree and one count theft by taking. According to court records, Watkins was arrested and charged on Feb. 7, 2019 by a Morgan County Sheriff’s Office  investigator. Warrants allege that Watkins entered a Aqua Road residence and took a 2005 Polaris 800 Twin Sport four wheeler and then sold the vehicle to a man for $1,500. In a second indictment on a separate matter, Watkins was indicted on one count burglary in the first degree, one count financial transaction card theft, one count possession of tools for the commission of a crime, one count burglary in the second degree and one count theft by taking. According to court records, Watkins was arrested on Jan. 16, 2019 by a Morgan County Sheriff’s Office investigator after he allegedly used a pry bar to enter a residence on Mission Road and took a 2008 Kawasaki 450 dirt bike valued at $3,500 and a debit card.

Thomas Miller Paradise, 25, Greensboro was indicted on two counts burglary in the second degree. According to court records, Paradise was arrested on Dec. 21, 2018 by a Morgan County Sheriff’s Office investigator. Warrants allege that Paradise entered an abandoned building on Parks Mill Road and removed metal items and copper wiring and then sold the items to a metal recycling company in Greensboro.

Joshua Nathan McCoy, 29, Buckhead was indicted on two counts burglary in the first degree. According to court records, McCoy was arrested on Dec. 2, 2018  by a Morgan County Sheriff’s Office officer after he allegedly entered a Greensboro Highway residence and removed two shotguns and a rifle. Warrants also allege that McCoy entered a Bostwick Highway residence and removed a .45 caliber pistol. McCoy was also indicted on three counts financial card fraud. According to court records, on three separate occasions in November he used someone else’s financial card without permission to obtain a total of $1,200 from the account.

Charrylston Dayne Sargent, 26, Monroe was indicted on one count aggravated assault and one count aggravated battery. According to court records, Sargent was arrested by a Morgan County Sheriff’s Office officer on Sept. 21, 2018 after he allegedly struck a man in the face with a beer bottle, breaking the eye socket of the man.

Amy Roberts, 46, Rutledge was indicted on one count sale of methamphetamine. According to court records,Roberts was arrested on Oct. 5, 2017 by a Morgan County Sheriff’s Office officer after she allegedly sold an confidential informant $90 worth of methamphetamine at a Fairplay Road residence. 

Lane Mark Jackson, 60, Greensboro was indicted on two counts DUI, one count driving while license suspended, one count reckless driving and one count hit and run. According to court records, Jackson was arrested on May 11, 2018 by a Georgia State Trooper at 6:47 a.m. at the Pilot Truck Stop, Eatonton Road.

• Jamahl Devon Cash, 26, Orangeburg, S.C. was indicted on one count driving while license suspended and two counts speeding. According to court records, Cash was arrested on Oct. 9, 2018 on Interstate 20 by a Georgia State Patrol Trooper for allegedly driving 88 mph in a 70 mph zone.

Terry Wayne Brice, 59, Madison was indicted on one count manufacture of marijuana, one count possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, one count possession of marijuana, more than an ounce and one count possession of drug related objects. According to court records, Brice was arrested on Aug. 1 by a Morgan County Sheriff’s Office officer after a Georgia State Patrol helicopter allegedly observed three marijuana plants growing in the Whispering Lakes Drive residence of Brice. Officers also allegedly found three more marijuana plants drying in the home along with jars, scales, bags and smoking devices.

Marquias Ladarrien Scott, 24, Bishop was indicted on one count failure to register as a sex offender. According to court records, Scott was arrested on Dec. 12, 2018 after he allegedly failed to register with the state within 72 hours of his birthday.

William Sanders Taylor, 66, Grovetown, Ga. was indicted on one count failure to register as sex offender. According to court records, Taylor was arrested on Oct. 19, 2018 by a Morgan County Sheriff’s Office officer after he allegedly failed to register as a sex offender following his release from Augusta State Medical Prison on Oct. 4, 2018.

Heather Nicole Reagin, 34, Madison  was indicted on one count obstruction of an officer, one count interference with government property, one count obstruction of an officer and one count criminal trespass. According to court records, Reagin was arrested on Jan. 2, 2019 after she allegedly kicked open the back door of a Davis Academy residence and entered, after being served with a criminal trespass notice. She also allegedly caused an injury to a deputy while he was attempting to detain her with handcuffs.

Quallis Rodriquez Jones, 35, Madison was indicted on one count possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, one count possession of marijuana, more than an ounce, one count possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, one count fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer, one count driving while license suspended, one count tailight violation and one count open container. According to court records, Jones was arrested on May 20, 2018 by a Madison Police Department officer after he was stopped on Bethany Road for a traffic violation. Warrants allege that four bags of marijuana and a firearm were found in the vehicle.

Derese Garshae Alexander, 35, Atlanta was indicted on one count possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, one count possession of methamphetamine, one count possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, one count possession of marijuana, less than an ounce, one count possession of drug related objects, one count driving while license suspended, one count open container and two counts speeding. According to court records, Alexander was arrested on Aug. 23, 2018 by a Morgan County Sheriff’s Office officer on Eatonton Road near Seven Islands Road. Warrants allege that consequent to a traffic stop officers found 20 grams of suspected methamphetamine, scales, bags and a 9mm handgun in the vehicle.
