Local author, Tarrant Smith, held a book signing at the Madison Artists Guild Saturday, May 11, for her first book, The Love of Gods, in the “Legends of the Pale” series and her five-book “Darkly” series, which received a Readers’ Favorite Award. Smith’s works fall into a category of paranormal romance novels. Her online biography states, “As a self-described kitchen witch, I have always sought out and nurtured the magick that can be found in the mundane trappings of everyday life. My outlook is decidedly romantic, hence my chosen genre. The Darkly Series and my new Legends of the Pale Series follows unlikely couples as they struggle against themselves and outside forces to find lasting love.”

A Readers’ Favorite review by K.C. Finn states: “The Love of Gods is a romantic work sure to please fans of interpersonal drama and epic love stories.”

A full-time author, Smith stated, “I had no idea there would be more books after that (first one – Enchanted Darkly), but I got to the end and realized that (one of my characters) needed his story told. That led to the next book and the next … The world building (in my new series) is broader but still harkens back to the Celtic mythology that I know … each book (in Legends of the Pale) is its own thing and can be read independently of the others.”

Anyone interested in learning more about both series can find information, an interview, and more reviews on the author’s website: http://tarrantsmith.com/.

Smith, who earned a degree in English literature from Queens College in North Carolina, will hold a second book signing in Madison at Perk Avenue on May 18 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Her next book, The Fate of Wolves, is expected to be released in late fall this year.
