Bill Malone told us, “Summer football workouts are going great.  It is fun to go to work with these kids and coaches every day.  They work so hard.  We are getting fantastic leadership out of the guys we need and expect it from.  Seniors Cole Freeman, Zan Mahone, and Seth Robertson are leading the way in the weight room and in workouts.  They are a joy to be around.  This week we will travel to the University of Georgia for our annual 7-on-7.  There will be lots of high level competition from 5, 6, and 7A schools around the state and out of state as well as high profile Class A private schools.   We will be one of the smaller public schools involved, but it will help us prepare for 2019 and see where we are at this point.  The kids get excited whether they are playing in the indoor facility there or on the turf at Sanford Stadium.  Just to be on campus is great for our kids and the team.  We are looking forward to a great day there.”

In basketball news from Coach Jamond Sims, two graduating seniors have recently committed to play college basketball this coming season.  6’9” center Nolan Causwell will be playing at Columbia State Junior College in Tennessee while 6’5” power forward Malik Crawford will attend Northern Oklahoma Junior College.  Congratulations to these two young men.

Teams around the school are taking advantage of the summer months and all the facilities to improve their skills.  The summer calendar is full with volleyball, cross-country, baseball, basketball, football, cheerleading, softball, and others working out on an almost daily basis.  There’s no rest for true Champions!
