The Madison Artists Guild will host their first Summer Garden Party at the Firefly Bed and Breakfast on Friday, July 12.
Rita Knight, a local artist and member of the guild, said the party is a way to show off what the guild has to offer. It is the first event of its kind, she said.
“This is the first garden party,” she said. “We really want it to be a fun event, and we want to have this class just to kind of give a preview of the classes offered in the fall at the artist gallery.”
There will be wings, sides and watermelon for those who attend, according to Knight.
Attendance will cost $10 per person.
Barn quilt painting will be offered for $20 and includes the perks of regular attendance, Knight said.
Funds from the party will be used for classes in the guild and outreach programs in the community, Knight said.
Knight hopes the party will raise awareness of what the guild does.
“We want to let people know about the gallery,” she said.
“We are excited about all of the classes that will be offered in the fall. This is kind of a kick-off event for that.”
