Ann Crawford Carmichael, 86, of Leesburg, Florida passed away Saturday, July 13, 2019 surrounded by her family.  Ann was born on May 13, 1933 in Shady Dale and lived part of her early years in Buckhead.  In 1943, the family moved to Madison when her father, Custer Crawford, became Superintendent of Morgan County Schools.  

In 1950, she married Weyman Liston Carmichael, Jr.  In 1961, she and her family moved to Leesburg, Fla., where she focused on one of her great loves, being a homemaker and raising her children.  Ann was best known for her love and service to Jesus Christ and His Church. She was a long time member of First Baptist Church in Leesburg. The family remembers that Weyman and Ann joined the church the very first day the sanctuary opened for services.   Ann devoted herself to teaching Sunday School (over 50 years) and facilitating in other Bible studies. She also loved to sing in the choir and was a part of various committees for the church.  She and Weyman lived their faith and brought many souls to the Lord.  In 1994, after Weyman died, she became President of the family business, Shady Brook Golf and RV Resort in Sumterville, Fla.  But she continued to witness for Jesus Christ for the rest of her life.

Ann is survived by her children, Elaine (Andrew) Buzzerd of Bushnell and Dee Ann (Jack) Williams, John Crawford (Tia) Carmichael, and James Carmichael, all of Leesburg; She was blessed with nine grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren; Ann is also survived by her brother, Robert D. Crawford of Madison. She was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Weyman, their son, Weyman Liston Carmichael, III “Chip”, and her brother Hal S. Crawford.

A celebration of Ann’s life will be held Saturday, July 20 at 11am at First Baptist Church, Leesburg in the sanctuary. A private burial will follow at a later time. Arrangements entrusted to Beyers Funeral Home, Leesburg. Online condolences may be left at www.beyersfuneralhome.com.
