On Aug. 11 Grant Small, 31, White Plains was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana, less than an ounce and improper lane change. According to reports, a Madison Police Department officer was contacted by Morgan County Dispatch regarding an erratic driver on Eatonton Road. The officer made contact with a vehicle matching the description and, reports state, observed the vehicle making lane changes without signaling. After a traffic stop, the officer alleged that he smelled raw marijuana coming from the vehicle. Reports state that the officer allegedly found a clear, water-proof box in a backpack in the back seat. Inside the box was a Play-Doh container that held a marijuana grinder, suspected marijuana and rolling papers.
On Aug. 15 a battery complaint was filed at the Morgan County Detention Center, Monticello Road. According to reports, a woman alleged that the father of her child had assaulted her at an unnamed gas station in Madison. Reports allege that he woman was not forthcoming with information regarding the attack and said she did not want to go through “process with court” but wanted protection. She also said she had not seen the man in three months and that he became enraged when she refused to give him a ride to work.
On Aug. 12 Donnie Lee Brown, 53, Union point was arrested and charged with public indecency. According to reports, an officer responded to a Morgan County Dispatch report of a suspicious person near the Citgo and McDonalds area of Eatonton Highway.
The officer responded and allegedly observed Brown in a blue Chevrolet Cobalt manipulating his genitals.
When the officer approached, reports state, he placed Brown under arrest for public indecency.
