On Oct. 13 a dog bit complaint was filed at a Prospect Road residence. According to reports, a deputy reported he went to the Prospect Road residence in regard to a threat complaint. The deputy said while he was speaking with the property owner, the owner’s Blue Healer dog lunged from the porch and attacked the deputy. The dog allegedly bit the outside of the deputy’s right thigh, leaving a bruise. The deputy, reports state, kicked the dog away and the dog continued to circle and growled. The deputy sprayed pepper spray on the dog and the family was able to gain control of the dog. A neighbor alleged that the dog continued to enter his property and eat his deer bait and had been aggressive towards him in the past.

On Oct. 12 Christopher Shawn Robbins, 22, Madison was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and possession of drug related objects. According to reports, a deputy at the Pilot Truck Stop, Eatonton Road, reported that he heard a crash in the parking lot. Two deputies investigated and allegedly observed Robbins 2017 Chevrolet Malibu embedded into the rear end of a pickup truck in the parking lot. The deputy, reports state, said Robbins appeared “incoherent” and after he rolled down a window the deputy allegedly smelled marijuana coming from the vehicle. He also observed a AK-47 style pistol in the passenger seat and a Glock pistol on the floorboard near Robbins left foot. Robbins allegedly told the deputy that he had not struck the truck but was “slowing down.” The deputy instructed to put the vehicle in park and demanded Robbins step out of the vehicle because the firearms proximity to Robbins. After Robbins exited the vehicle, reports state, he continued “not sit still or comply with instructions.” A glass jar with a snack wrapper and a small piece of suspected marijuana was found, along with a digital scale. Deputies also found a “large amount of cash” in Robbins front pocket. Robbins estimated that there was $2,100. A relative came to retrieve Robbins weapons and Robbins was transported to the Morgan County Detention Center.

On Oct. 11 Roderick Turner Surum, 24, Charleston, S.C. was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana. According to reports, a deputy stopped Surum for allegedly failure to stop at a stop sign at the intersection of Newborn Road and Davis Academy Road. Consequent to the traffic stop, the deputy alleged he could smell marijuana coming from the vehicle. Surum allegedly told the deputy he could find a small amount of suspected marijuana in a book bag on the floorboard behind the passenger seat. Approximately four grams of marijuana was found.

On Oct. 9 a conspiracy to commit a misdemeanor complaint was filed at a West Main Street, Rutledge residence. According to reports, a woman alleged that a man was kicking on her front door in an attempt to enter the residence. Reports state that the woman said she and the man had recently ended a relationship. She also alleged the man had been drinking and asked her to come outside, which she declined. The man left when the woman called 911 and attempts to located the man failed.

On Oct. 8 a theft by deception complaint was field at a Newborn Road, Rutledge residence. No other information was available on the complaint.

On On Oct. 7 an information report was filed at a Mallard Ridge Road residence. According to reports, a woman alleged that her 16-year-old son had left home without her permission, had requested that the mother sign over custody rights to another woman so the child can move to Florida and left the residence to stay with a relative. The woman also said the child posted on a social media site that he had been shot in the arm. She contacted the child who declined medical attention for the wound.

On Oct. 6 a violation of a family violence protective order was filed at a Atlanta Highway, Rutledge residence. According to reports, a woman alleged that a man who she has secured a protective order against had attempted to contact her via Facebook messenger.
