Hubert Jeffries was born March 3, 1940 to the late W. L. and Emma Lizzie Jeffries of Madison. He departed this life on October 11, 2019. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings.
On April 7, 1963 he was joined in holy matrimony to Maggie B. Peters and this union was blessed with two sons, Vinson and Tony Jeffries, both of Madison. They were married for 53 years. Maggie preceded him in death in January 2017.
Hubert was employed for a number of years with International Paper Company, Mulkin Forestry and Morgan County Landfill Services in Madison. He officially retired in 2008 and enjoyed picking up his grandsons, William and Cameron Jeffries after school every day.
Hubert was an avid wildlife explorer. He loved both fishing and hunting. Afterward, he would go home to prep his meat for cooking, grilling or freezing. He enjoyed gardening and was a real die heart pet lover, his dogs named Jack and Jill. His favorite TV show was Steve Harvey, “Family Feud.”
Lastly, in keeping with Hubert’s loving and generous spirit, it was his decision to be an organ donor so that others may have a healthier and longer life.
He leaves to cherish his memories a loving and caring family, children, grandchildren, daughter-in-law, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, neighbors, caretakers, other relatives and friends.
