Police, eyewitness alleged man pushed woman out of car

A Madison man faces aggravated assault and battery charges after he allegedly shoved a woman out of a moving car on Cox Road last week.

According to Lt. Brandon Sellers, Morgan County Sheirff’s Office, Michael Glen Nix, 46, was arrested after an eye witness told police that he observed a woman pushed out of a car at approximately 3:30 p.m. last Wednesday. Sellers said authorities found the woman on the side of the road near the intersection of Cox Road and Carmichael Drive with injuries to her arms and feet.The woman, reports state, told investigators that Nix was driving erratically on Cox Road and she opened the car door in an attempt to force him to stop the vehicle. 

A man driving behind Nix told officers Nix then shoved the woman from the moving vehicle.Officers found Nix at the Relax Inn, North Main Street, while they were investigating an unrelated domestic incident later that afternoon.

Reports state that Nix was arrested at the Relax Inn after he stepped out of a room and was recognized by an officer. He was arrested at 4:50 p.m. 

After Nix was placed in the back of a patrol car he allegedly slammed his head against the interior of the patrol car.
