Funeral services for Mary Alice Kent Pound age 87 will be conducted Thursday at 12 noon in Williams Funeral Home Chapel of Milledgeville with Rev. Larry Glover officiating. Interment will follow at 1 p.m. at the Georgia Veteran Memorial Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home from 11 a.m. until the service hour.
Mrs. Pound was a native of Warren County and was raised in Hancock County and had made her home in Baldwin County all of her adult life. She was predeceased by her husband William Howard Pound, Sr. her parents, John Thomas Kent, Sr. and Alice Victoria Griffith Kent and brothers, James Edward Kent, Earl Hutchings Kent, John Thomas Kent, Sr.and Charles Hinton Kent Sr. and step-son William H. Pound, Jr.
Mary graduated from Registered Nurse school in Macon and worked at Central State Hospital, Chaplinwood Nursing Home and Eaton Health and Rehab and was currently employed by Excel Adult Daycare in Greensboro.
Survivors include her daughters, Barbara Batchelor of Macon and Carolyn (Ricky) Lunsford of Madison, Mary Frances Hatchett and Carla Wright of Milledgeville; sons, William Edward Batchelor of Augusta, Curtis Pound, Wendell (Gloria) Pound and stepson David Toler of Milledgeville; brothers, Joseph Hopkins (Mary) Kent of Sparta, and William Eugene Kent of Milledgeville and 13 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers the family request donations to Breast Cancer, Lupus or to the STROGREN’S Syndrome.
