The Holiday season is upon us and Madison embraced it by hosting the Second Annual Holiday Shop Sip and Stroll in downtown Madison. Over 1,000 people descended upon Downtown Madison as 27 local merchants decked the halls and offered patrons a slew of deals and promotions.
“It was as successful as last year, if not better,” said Ann Huff, Madison’s Main Street coordinator. “We hope that will continue and become a beloved tradition in Madison every year.”
The sound of classic holiday music sung by carolers could be heard in the streets of Madison as shoppers meandered from store to store to kick off the holiday season.
“Shop, Sip and Stroll is a chance to explore the various Downtown Madison retailers while enjoying complimentary refreshment, special retail and restaurant promotions, and of course holiday shopping,” said Ann Huff, Madison’s Main Street coordinator.
According to Huff, the event drew a diverse group of people.
“We saw a lot of locals and a lot of out-of-towners,” said Huff. It was a beautiful day and it was the perfect way to begin the Holiday season and get everyone in the holiday spirit.”
Main Street Madison will orchestrate another holiday shopping extravaganza on Black Friday, the day after Thanksgiving. The Shop Small event will begin on Friday, Nov. 30 with participating local retailers offering a special promotion for customers. If you spend $30 at a participating store, you can register right then and there to win a $100 gift certificate from Main Street.
“We will be awarding two $100 gift certificates,” said Huff. “People can register multiple times, as many times as they spend $30 at any participating stores downtown.”
Don’t miss the chance to shop small and get a head start on all your holiday shopping.
