Morgan County’s Lady Dogs had a stinging loss in their finale of the Tabo’s Tipoff Classic at Jefferson High School.  The girls jumped all over Druid Hills early only to see that lead evaporate in the second half for the 41-36 loss.

Coach Timothy Roop told us, “We jumped out to a big early lead, but couldn’t hold on.  A scoreless third quarter for us changed the game completely.  It was 20-2 at one point in the first quarter.  We had our chances but couldn’t make free throws.  It was tied with about two minutes to go.  We missed a few free throws, turned it over, and they converted.”

Morgan moved to 1-3 with the loss while the Lady Red Devils of Druid Hills improved to 6-1 to go along with their number six ranking in class AAAA.

The MOCO teams will return home for their first region contest on Dec. 3 vs. Franklin County.  They will continue the regular season schedule with weekend contests scheduled for Friday at Hart County and back home Saturday against Salem High School.  Saturday’s contests begin at 1:00 p.m. with JV girls followed by JV boys at 2:30, varsity girls at 4:00, and varsity boys at 5:30.
