The Morgan County Bulldogs took a tough loss on the chin at the Lion’s Den in Franklin County last Friday with a hard-to-swallow 64-60 loss. The Dogs led by two with possession at the one minute mark before an untimely turnover and ensuing score doomed their effort.
The possible upset bid would have been a feather in the Bulldogs’ resume with Franklin holding a 14-4 record and a number six ranking in AAA.
With the loss, Morgan moves to 2-13 on the season with major region games coming up this week.
The Dogs take on Hart county Tuesday in a home matchup before heading to Jefferson and Jones County over the weekend.

The advantage came on the play from guards Ty Butler and AJ Brown. They combined for 14 of the team’s 18 total points with Butler scoring eight with two three’s and another layup. Brown added five with another trey of his own.
Franklin exploded for 22 second period points to take a 33-25 advantage at the intermission.

The Dogs put on a flurry in the final quarter.
