The Morgan County Middle School Wrestling team competed in their final tournament of the season; the Peach State League Championships over the weekend. According to Coach Marcus Crowe, this is one of the toughest middle school leagues in the state. As a team they finished fourth out of 16 participating teams.
The individual placements were:
Caleb Turner -1st place at the 130 pound weight class
Paul Bessette-2nd place at the 80 pound weight class
Caleb Riser-2nd place at the 138 pound weight class
Nolan Holloway-3rd place at the 75 pound weight class
Dustin Starr-3rd place at the 85 pound weight class
Miles Butler-3rd place at the 90 pound weight class
Christopher Morgan-3rd place at the 147 pound weight class
Omar Hayes-4th place at the 119 pound weight class
Also scoring valuable team points were:
Jaxon Guinn-at the 103 pound weight class
Will Crowe- at the 125 pound weight class
Crowe commented, “This team worked through growing pains and a little adversity here and there, but they fought through and worked very hard to be successful. Our program is growing from top to bottom, and we are excited about the future.” Congratulations to Coach Crowe and the team.
