Anytime your JV teams can come up with wins over quality basketball programs like Jackson County and Jones County, it has to make you feel good about the future of those programs. The two squads did just that this week with the boys and girls taking wins over Jackson County and Jones County over the weekend.  It was a solid week for Brian Green’s and Candi Wyatt’s squads.

The girls got things going with a 37-35 squeaker over Jackson County Friday.  Bailey McDaniel was the leading scorer with nine points going 5-6 from the free throw line.  Adrianna Lawrence and Andrea Cooper each added eight in the victory.  The boys also got the win, but no details were available.

Saturday the teams got back-to-back wins.  The Lady Dogs came away with a 37-30 win over the Lady Grayhounds of Jones County while the boys grabbed a 55-46 victory.  The boys were led by TJ Thompson’s 10 in a balanced scoring attack.  Cooper Easterday and Trevion Alexander each tallied seven for the Bulldogs.  Morgan’s Lady Dogs looked strong again as Lawrence pumped in 10 points while Trinesha Jones and Destiny Hunter each contributed with seven on the afternoon.

This completes the boys schedule for 2020.  The girls played their final regular season game Tuesday at Monroe.  Details were unavailable at press time.
