Two South Carolina native women were indicted last Friday by a Morgan County Grand Jury for allegedly trafficking drugs in their rental car.

Andrea Strode, 35, was indicted on charges of trafficking in heroin, trafficking in methamphetamine, possession of marijuana (less than an ounce), possession of drug related objects, drugs not in original container, and speeding. Strode was the driver of the vehicle.

Brandy Odle, 35, was indicted on charges of trafficking in heroin, trafficking in methamphetamine, possession of marijuana (less than an ounce), possession of drug related objects, possession of heroin, possession of methamphetamine, and drugs not in original container.

The indictment follows the women’s arrest made earlier in the month when they were pulled over for allegedly driving 98-miles-per-hour in a 70-miles-per-hour zone.

Subsequent to the traffic stop, an officer detected marijuana and proceeded to search the vehicle after calling for backup. The vehicle’s trunk was loaded with fire wood. Det. Wes Thompson, Madison Police Department, said there was a bag containing two pounds of suspected methamphetamine.

“Drugs were found throughout the car, including the trunk, front seat area and back seat area,” Thompson said.

The women are awaiting a court date and remain at the Morgan County Detention Center.
