A young and attractive crowd attended the Winter Gala at Oconee Brewery in Greensboro, Ga Jan. 31 hosted by The Humane Society of Morgan County where they raised over $15,000 for the animals.

Over 100 attendees enjoyed a night of food, music, and fun in raising money for the Humane Society. According to Director of Operations Miranda Johnson, “We raised $8,000 from the silent auction and with sponsors and tickets sold, we raised over $10,000.” All the money fundraised goes right back to the shelter.

“The money goes towards operations, pet care, vet expenses,” said Johnson, “basically anything we have to do to run the shelter.”

The Humane Society is always seeking donations, whether that be donating time to being a volunteer or donating items such as kitty litter, plastic bags, or paper shreds. For more information, call Morgan County Humane Society at (706) 343-9977.
