On April 4, a criminal damage to property complaint was filed at Walmart, Eatonton Road. According to reports, a man reported that while he was at Walmart someone damaged his 2019 Ford F150. Reports state that the man said there were two pinpoint dents on the vehicle, one under a door handle and a second one lower on the door.
On April 5, Calvin Marice Thomas, 36, Madison, was arrested and charged with obstruction, probation violation and disorderly conduct. According to reports, a Madison Police Department officer was requested to assist Morgan County Sheriff’s Office deputies who were responding to an active fight complaint at a Pinetree Circle residence. Reports state that 15 persons were allegedly fighting and that a suspect involved in the fight was leaving the scene in a black Honda with dents and body damage. An officer reported that he observed the Honda at 5 p.m. on East Washington Street and attempted to make a traffic stop. The Honda turned on Vine Street and Thomas exited the vehicle and began walking on the sidewalk. The officer said he gave two verbal commands for Thomas to stop and Thomas fled into a wooded area off Maple Street. The officer located Thomas and ordered him to the ground but, reports state, Thomas refused. The officer took Thomas to the ground and deployed his taser weapon after Thomas allegedly refused to give the officers his hand. Following the deployment of the taser, Thomas placed his hands behind his back and was detained.
