Our Stories: Bounty of thanks

Contributed Community

There is not enough thanks given to those behind the scenes that contribute to services we receive. I would like to give thanks to Meals on Wheels for a job well done.

Sarah Sawyer who was instrumental in assisting my Aunt Hattie and Uncle Allen Miles, who is 100 and he is 94 years old. From the start because of their disabilities, she came out to help in getting the paperwork done. When the process was completed she returned to let them know what was to be expected moving forward. Having with her Gladys Davis who was introduced to us as the person delivering the food.

Their friendliness was appreciated by the seniors. Sarah stopped by to see how they enjoyed the meal after a short while of their receiving them. And Gladys continued to inquire during her deliveries.

They were drenched on their last delivery of boxes to hold the seniors over for a little while longer. Even on a stormy day they were there to let us know that they were not sure when they would  return.

Thanks to Meals on Wheels in assisting families who need a meal or unknowingly helping those who have to assist families at home or living elsewhere in the county.

Doing a job with love is appreciated. May Jehovah God be with you all during this pandemic.
