Search warrant leads to meth arrest

A 67-year-old Bethany Road man was arrested and charged with multiple drug offenses including possession of methamphetamine with the intent to distribute, after authorities executed a search warrant at the man’s residence.

Michael Lee Jordan, Sr. was taken into custody on Friday, May 15 at 7 p.m. after investigators with the Morgan County Sheriff’s Office executed a Fourth Amendment probation search on both Jordan and his son, Michael Jordan, Jr., 38. Reports state that when investigators entered the residence the “kitchen smelled of burnt marijuana. Mr. Jordan Sr. stated to me that he had just smoked marijuana…”

Officers searched Jordan, Sr. and allegedly located a plastic bag containing 13.7 grams of suspected methamphetamine. During a search of the residence investigators allegedly located two oxycodone pills and another small plastic bag of suspected methampheatmine. They also located two mirrors with suspected methamphetamine residue and a plastic bag containing suspected marijuana. In a bedroom officers found a glass pipe and burnt foil with suspected methamphetamine residue.

Jordan, Sr. allegedly told officers all the drug related items “belonged to him and not his son.” 

Jordan, Sr. was charged with possession of methamphetamine with the intent to distribute, possession of a schedule I controlled substance, possession of drug related objects and possession of marijuana, less than an ounce.

Jordan, Jr. was arrested and charged with a probation violation, reports state.
