On May 30 an information report was filed at a U.S. 441 near Pierce Dairy Road location. According to reports, an officer observed a log truck that had rolled across the road and damaged grass and a curb near Madison South Plaza. The truck’s owner was located and he said he had parked in the lot across the roadway at 5:30 p.m.
On May 30 a shoplifting complaint was filed at Dollar General, Eatonton Road. According to reports, an employee a woman came to the checkout aisle with two pillows placed in the bottom of the cart. The woman said she no longer wanted the pillows and would take them back after she checked out. After she checked out she rolled the cart back into the store but later came out the front with the pillows on the cart. The pillows are valued at $6, however, reports state they are currently on sale for $3.
On May 29 Daarial Harris, 20, Madison was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana, less than an ounce. According to reports, an officer drove by a vehicle on Mapp Street that allegedly smelled of marijuana. After the officer made a traffic stop on the vehicle, he allegedly found a small bag of suspected marijuana in Harris’ pants pocket.
On May 27 a burglary complaint was filed at a Micha Way residence. According to reports, a woman alleged that someone had forced their way into the apartment while her niece was at work. The woman said she came to the apartment to drop of her niece’s children when she noticed the damaged door.
On May 25 Christina Harris, 40, Union City was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct. According to reports, an officer responded with another officer to a traffic stop on Interstate 20. Consequent to the stop, the driver was arrested for DUI and speeding. While the second officer stayed at the scene to await a tow truck driver to take away the vehicle, Harris allegedly pulled up and got out of her vehicle and asked why was the driver of the original vehicle detained. After being told, Harris allegedly said “I see what I’m dealing with.” She then got into her car and as she was leaving allegedly shot the officer a bird and yelled an expletive at the officer.
On May 27 an information report was filed at a Terris Drive residence. According to reports, a man alleged that when he came home he observed that the window of his 2018 Chevrolet Impala was broken. The man said he reviewed video surveillance and it allegedly showed a city of Madison truck picking up a piece of furniture with a crane arm and dropping the furniture on the other side of the city truck near the man’s vehicle. A piece of sofa arm allegedly hit the complainant’s vehicle.
On May 25 Kerry Ann Smith, 56, Madison was arrested and charged with shoplifting. According to reports, an Ingles, Eatonton Road, employee alleged that Smith had entered the store and then placed a bottle of Merlot wine, eye drops, chapstick and three different brands of allergy medicine into her purse and attempted to leave the store. The items are valued at $45.36.
On May 24 a criminal damage to property complaint was filed at Quality Inn, Eatonton Road. According to reports, a woman stated that someone had cut all four tires of her 2004 Honda Accord while is was parked in front of a room.
On May 21 a fraud complaint was filed at a Newman Drive residence. According to reports, a couple alleged that someone used their debit card information to purchase a Playstation UR Blood and Truth bundle package game system. The system was delivered to an Atlanta address, reports state.
On May 1 a burglary complaint was filed at Verizon, Eatonton Road. According to reports, an employee stated that when she arrived at work the store was open. Officers arrived and observed yellow pry marks on the doors and some drawers. Boxes of phone cases were on the floor. The employee said she wasn’t sure how much merchandise had been taken and she would provide officers with an inventory list.
