Our Stories: Better days are coming

Contributed Community

By Pastor Hoke Smith

During this Pandemic, I have been praying, studying, and encouraging people to remain positive. Better days are coming.

I look through my Biblical lens of 2020 vision as I enter my 33rd   year after the first Sunday in August. I have never seen the chaotic state that our nation has encountered, that is the Pandemic and the social unrest. Burning and looting is senseless.

We are taking the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and tearing it down and burning it. Agape Love is the only key to peace and happiness. We all must live together.

I have been praying for our world leaders, state, and the local municipalities and, all those who sacrifice daily that serve us. And all the preachers, teachers, evangelist, pastors, and the household of faith.

Our building remains open, but the church is in our hearts and we are still ministering daily.

Calvary has been blessed to benefit our community with 500 boxes of food and plan to distribute more. We are still accepting donations.

Anytime you would like to come into the sanctuary and pray you are always welcome. Come to the secretary’s office and she will lead you up to the sanctuary. We are one nation under God with liberty and justice for all.

Do not focus your time on people that hate, but on those that are loving and kind to one another. Personally, I would like to thank all those that are praying for Calvary and praying for us during this Pandemic and the generosity and show of your love.

Scripture says in Hebrews 10:16 This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the LORD, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them

Yours in Christ Jesus,
