Criminal sentences given in Superior Court

Morgan County Superior Court held criminal court last week. The following cases were adjudicated.

Clifton Smith, 40, Decatur pled guilty to one count flee dint and attempting to elude a police officer, three counts aggravated assault on a peace officer and one count reckless driving. According to court documents, Smith was sentenced to a total of 15 years with the first three years to be served in confinement and the remainder to be served on probation. He was also fined $1,000.

Curtis Leon Bolden, 46, Madison pled guilty to one count possession of methamphetamine, one count possession of drug related items and one count possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. According to court documents, Bolden was sentenced to a total of eight years and was ordered to be credit for time served since Dec. 6, 2019. 

Damien Dasean Brown, 29, Lithonia pled guilty to one count possession of marijuana, less than an ounce. According to court documents, he was sentenced to one year probation and was fined $500.

Desmond Jerel Smith, 28, Newnan pled guilty to one count possession of marijuana, less than an ounce and one count tampering with evidence. He was sentenced to one year probation and was fined $500.

Brittany Nicole George, 33, Stone Mountain pled nolo to one count DUI. According to court documents, she was sentenced to one year probation and was fined $800.

Justin Wade Parker, 31, Madison pled guilty to one count driving while license suspended. According to court documents, he was sentenced to six months confinement at the Morgan County Detention Center was given credit for time served since June 29, 2019.

Christian William Malebranche, 30, Smyrna pled guilty to one count possession of marijuana, less than an ounce and one count possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. According to court documents, he was sentenced to eight years with the first six months to be served in confinement and the reminder to be served on probation.

Ricky Lewis Hardy, Jr., 24, Decatur pled guilty to one count possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, one count possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony and one count possession of a drug related object. According to court documents, he was sentenced to 10 years to be served on probation and was fined $2,000.

Sean Patrick Cartey, 28, Madison pled guilty to one count burglary in the first degree, one count burglary in the second degree, two counts theft by taking, one count fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer and one count driving without a license. According to court documents, he was sentenced to 15 years with the first 120 days to be served in confinement at the Morgan County Detention Center and the remainder to be served on probation.

Taylor Marklia Janea Lewis, 22, Milledgeville was found guilty of one count crossing the guard line with contraband and one count possession of methamphetamine. She was sentenced to five years with the first 270 days to be served at the Morgan County Detention Center with that sentence to be waived upon entry into the RSAT program. She was also fined $1,000.

Trenton Christopher Boyd, 38, Atlanta pled guilty to one count possession of marijuana, less than an ounce. According to court documents, he was sentenced to one year probation and was fined $500.

Kevin Eugene Brand, 50, Buckhead pled guilty to one count DUI. According to court documents, he was sentenced to one year with the first 48 hours to be served at the Morgan County Detention Center and the remainder to be served on probation. He was also fined $750.

Lakeeda Barbara Johnson, 25, Butner, N.C. pled guilty to one count speeding. According to court documents, she was sentenced to six months to be served on probation and was fined $250.
