A new exhibit will be on display at the Steffen Thomas Museum of Art (STMA) beginning on Thursday, Sept. 17.
The new display is entitled “Elements: Expressions in Wood, Metal and Stone.” The art display will feature the creative works of regional artists in Georgia. The new exhibit will honor the legacy of the museum’s namesake, Steffen Thomas.
“Steffen Thomas was a master of all materials, but his roots as an artist began as a sculptor. In this exhibition, we will honor Steffen’s legacy by displaying some of his three-dimensional art alongside works by contemporary regional sculptors in wood, metal and stone,” said a statement from the STMA. “A complementary series of virtual events such as panel discussions and artist demonstrations will be announced on the museum’s website and social media.”
Artists participating in this exhibit include: Len Brown, Sally Wansboro Eppstein, Roxane Hollosi, Barbara Mann, Larry Millard, Noah James Saunders, Ronald Sullivan, Carol Veliotis, Jeffrey Waller, Kelsey Wishik, and Ryan James Woods.
The Elements exhibit will be on display at the STMA through Nov. 7.
Due to the ongoing coronavirus, the STMA is accepting visitors by appointment. If you would like to see Elements in person, please contact the museum at: firstname.lastname@example.org or call: (706) 342-7557.
The Mission of the Steffen Thomas Museum of Art is to provide an opportunity to engage, to learn, and to be inspired through Steffen’s life, art, and legacy.
