Staff Written Obituaries

CP Lord, 90, died peacefully on November 11, 2020.  He was born September 12, 1930 to Oscar Barren Lord and Ollie Tanner Lord in Jackson County, Georgia.  He is preceded in death by his mother and father, his sisters, Claudine Lord, Q.D. Lord, Geraldine Lord Tucker, Mary Lou Lord Shephard and Lois Lord Armour, his brothers, Harvey Lord, Jack Lord and Bobby Joe Lord.  He is survived by his wife, Ann Bone Lord and brothers, Tom Lord and Henry Lord.  He is survived also by his children, Gail Lord Howard and Arthur, Becky Lord Astin and Mike, Vicki Lord Cisson and Steve and Dave Lord and Lucy.  Grandchildren are Dallas Astin and Lori, Betsy Watson and Jon, Andy Nash and Mandi, Erin Miller and Drew, Brianna Lord and Will Holbert, Cody Lord and Cory Lord.  Also, he is survived by two great grandchildren, Annie Miller and Raelan Watson.

Although Mr. Lord was born in Jackson County, he and his family moved to Buckhead, Georgia in the late 1930’s.  He was proud to have lived in the real Buckhead.  After serving in the Army, he met his beloved wife, Ann Bone Lord.  He had a passion for working on cars and was in the auto parts business for over 30 years.  He loved his family and always provided for them.  He also loved going to the North Georgia mountains.  He enjoyed camping at Lake Sinclair, Clarks Hill Lake and Lake Oconee.  Getting together with relatives was something he cherished. On Wednesday, his journey was complete.  He was reunited with his loved ones and our Lord Jesus Christ.

A private graveside service was held on Saturday, November 14 at 11 a.m.  at the Madison City Cemetery.
