Morgan Medical Center is hosting its annual premier fundraiser this holiday season. The 2020 Love Light Tree is up in the lobby of the hospital waiting for your ornaments.

“During this season of gratitude and joy, the Morgan Medical Auxiliary invites you to honor your loved ones with an ornament to be displayed on our 2020 Love Light Tree in the lobby of the Morgan Medical Center for our community to enjoy throughout the holiday season,” said Megan Morris, director of communications and public relations for Morgan Medical Center.

Every year, the Morgan Medical Auxiliary invites the community to purchase an ornament in honor of a loved one. The community is also invited to attend “A Night of Lights” which will be a “drive-through” celebration held on Thursday, Dec. 10 at 6 p.m. Attendees can drive up to the Morgan Medical Center grounds and enjoy holiday musical performances and eat cookies served by auxiliary members.

You can purchase a Tree Light Donation for $25, a Love Light Donation for $50 or a Star Light Donation for $100. All donations are tax deductible and will go to benefit the current needs of the hospital. Honorees will receive a card acknowledging donor’s generosity.

“Funds from auxiliary events such as the annual Love Light Tree celebration are used to help with current needs of the hospital,” explained Morris.  “For example, in February the auxiliary contributed $85,000 for the purchase of a portable ultrasound, ventilator, a surgical power driver, and training manikins.  Equipment purchases such as these allow us to expand the services that we are able to provide locally for our community members.  This year’s Love Light celebration holds particular importance as our auxiliary members were unable to hold their largest annual fundraiser, Festival of Friends, this year due to COVID-19.”

Last year’s Love Light Tree fundraiser brought in over $12,000 for the hospital last year.

“We are so grateful for our community members who continue to support this wonderful event year after year and our auxiliary members who devote their time and energy to make it such a success,” said Morris.  “Over $154,000 has been raised since its inception 20 years ago. Love Light is a tradition that we look forward to each year as we officially kick off the holiday season and honor our friends and loved ones.  We are blessed to now be able to host the event in such a beautiful facility where supporters can witness first-hand their contributions being put to good use.”  Individuals needing additional information can contact Morris at or 706-752-2237.
