Henry O. Casteel, Jr., age 93 of Madison, passed away peacefully on December 6, 2020. Henry was born in Marietta, on August 15, 1927. He is survived by his loving wife of 74 years, Ann; children John and Sarah; grandchildren Jon, Jessica, Tanner, and Nicholas; great grandchildren: Carter, Cayden, and Connor; special niece and nephew Pam and Darrel, sisters: Jean and Vivian.

Many nieces, nephews, & cousins, special extended family: Pat Harris, Glenn, Jenifer, Raina, Michelle. 

He was a licensed Master Electrician, and licensed builder. He was the founder of Casteel Electric Company, Rockbridge Court Apts., and Gwinnett Electric Supply. He developed numerous subdivisions, and built homes, apartments, and duplexes. He also grew timber, and raised cattle. All work was shared with his partner, his wife, Ann. Henry was proud to be a United States Marine. He was a veteran of World War II, where he served with distinction alongside The Chinese Imperial Army, in Tsingtao China. He rejoined during The Korean Conflict, and served as an Antitank Assault Infantryman. After he received his 2nd Honorable Discharge he joined the US Marine Reserve. 

He was a member and Deacon of North Metro Baptist Church, for 31 years. After moving to Madison he joined Sandy Creek Baptist Church, and was a member for 24 years. Henry was preceded in death by his son, David, and brother, Preston. He enjoyed being outdoors on his farm, running his tractor, and hunting and fishing. He enjoyed traveling, and especially to Alaska, where he and his wife, Ann, went for over 25 years. He loved God, his family, and his country. And he will be dearly missed. 

A funeral service was held at 2 p.m., Friday, December 11, 2020 in the Lawrenceville Chapel of Tim Stewart Funeral Home. The burial followed at White Chapel Memorial Gardens.
